Akilah Hughes (31 August 1989)[1][2] is a Brooklyn,[3] New Yorkian YouTuber and self-described Comedy Person[4] with the Nom de Vlog Akilah Obviously.

"Akilah Hughes v. Carl Benjamin"

Akilah is suing Sargon of Akkad for using some of her Footage on YouTube. The Lawsuit "Akila Hughes v. Carl Benjamin a.k.a. 'Sargon of Akkad'; and 'JOHN DOES' 1-10", filed on 25 August 2017 in the S.D.N.Y., asks for "up to $150,000 for each copyrighted work" that it alleges was infringed upon, if this was done "willfully", or "up to $30,000 for each copyrighted work".[5] Journalist Tim Pool says Sargon took "Clips, put them Back to Back, and uploaded them with a snarky Title of some Sort".[6] It was a total of 6 Clips that Sargon used.[7] The Title Sargon gave it was "SJW Levels of Awareness".[8] YouTuber MundaneMatt says that Sargon's Video was 1 Minute and 28 Seconds long and was taken out of a Video Titled "We Thought She Would Win", which was 9 Minutes and 50 Seconds long.[9]

Akilah's Health-related GoFundMe Page

As verifed by "The Daily Dot",[10] on 20 April 2016, Akilah set up a GoFundMe Page titled "Akilah's Liver Treatment Fund". In it, she says:

I have 3 benign tumors on my liver, 2 of which are classified as "giant" and are basically making it hard for my liver to 1) stay hydrated and 2) process anything I've been eating. But while going over this with me, the doctor also noticed that I had tested positive for Lyme disease.

By 4 October 2017, $38,800 had been donated.[3]

Akilah's Sister Lanie

Akilah has a Sister named Lanie Hughes who had a GoFundMe Page titled "Malene's Dystonia Treatment Fund".[11][2][12]
